OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Friday will mark 25 years since the entire country stood still. 9/11 is a day forever ingrained in our brains, just like April 19, 1995, and just like July 22, 2011, is for those in Oslo, Norway. The dates all involve cities thousands of miles apart, but each experienced similar tragedies and is coming together to heal, bond, and remember.
“New York City stood with us in our darkest hour, and we stood with them, and we continue to stand with them,” President and CEO of the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum Kari Watkins said.
It’s an unbreakable bond between the two cities that are around 1,500 miles apart. Both experienced tragedies beyond comprehension, but found ways to emerge stronger than before.
