Wichita council votes to end Boathouse lease if $476,000 in repairs aren’t made

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita City Council has agreed to end the lease of the Boathouse if the renter cannot fix the maintenance problems that have piled up.

On Tuesday, the council voted unanimously to issue a formal notice to the America³ Foundation requiring the nonprofit to address the problems. If it does not, the city will move forward with terminating the lease.

The Boathouse, on the east bank of the Arkansas River between Waterman Street and Kellogg Avenue, is home to the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame.
