COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — Pikes Peak will be offering free admission to first responders and military personnel in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York.
According to city officials, Pikes Peak will have free admission for eligible first responders and military personnel who provide a valid ID at the gate. They also say admission and the timed entry permit fee will be waived on that day.
On Friday, September 11, the uphill gates will open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 5 p.m., according to officials. The Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center will close at 6 p.m. and the downhill gates close at 7 p.m…
