DA: Western NC man sentenced after foot pursuit, fentanyl arrest

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office said a man has been sentenced after a police pursuit ended in drug charges.

The district attorney said 49-year-old Anastacio Robert Molina, of Woodfin, was sentenced to serve up to eight years in a North Carolina correctional institution after pleading guilty Tuesday to attempted trafficking in fentanyl.

Molina entered his plea after a traffic stop and foot pursuit by the Woodfin Police Department on April 16.

The district attorney said officers stopped a truck in which Molina was a passenger. He then fled from the truck on foot before being apprehended a short distance away…
