Woman accused of vandalizing Kern County Veterans Memorial found incompetent

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A woman accused of multiple acts of vandalism — including shattering a portion of the Kern County Veterans Memorial — has been found incompetent to stand trial, according to court records.

Marina Smith, 33, is due back in court next month for a hearing to determine where she’ll be housed while efforts are made to restore her to competency.
