- Band of Ages wins first place at Battle at the Alley, raising over $1,000 for Aiken County Veterans Council.
AIKEN — Music lovers and other friends of Aiken County Veterans Council gave the council a boost heading into September’s first weekend, casting more than $1,000 in dollar votes for this year’s Battle at the Alley.
Band of Ages, a four-member group, bagged first place in the Sept. 5 event, followed by Seth Logan and Midland Music Revival, in that order, all volunteering their talent, with all proceeds going to help local veterans in need.
“Everything went great,” said North Augusta resident Chris Kirkbride, Band of Ages’ guitarist. “We thought the weather was going to get things canceled, because it was kinda getting a little scary there at the beginning, but by the time we took the stage, the weather had cleared up, and by the third song in, we had a very strong crowd around us.”…
