Northside High teacher remembered after death from brain aneurysm

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Northside High School is mourning the loss of science teacher Cassie Renfrow, who died Friday after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm last month.

Renfrow experienced what she described as the worst headache of her life at school on Aug. 25. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered the ruptured aneurysm. She was flown to Atlanta for emergency surgery. After days fighting for her life, she died Sept. 4.

A 13-year career in Muscogee County

Renfrow spent 13 years with the Muscogee County School District, starting at Shaw High School before moving to Northside High, where she was nearing her fifth year as a science teacher.
