A North Carolina state trooper was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the killing of a Cumberland County sheriff’s deputy.
A grand jury indicted Sgt. Nekime Oxendine in the March 27 death of Capt. Adam David Bean. A judge ordered that he be held without bail.
Oxendine has worked for the State Highway Patrol for 18 years, according to patrol records. He was placed on administrative leave after the shooting, spokesperson Lt. Chris Knox previously told The News & Observer…
