A candid discussion was held at an Horry County Board of Education work session on Tuesday night, Sept. 8, after Horry County Schools staff shared an overall decline in enrollment for the second consecutive year.
As of about two weeks into the school year, HCS is approximately 750 students short of their projected enrollment for the 2026-27 school year.
