Amarillo is full of great restaurants; some are local, some are chains. We’ve had a lot of our local restaurants close while others have shone and are moving to a new location. We love it when one of our favorite eateries is expanding.
Back in 2024, we shared that Bangkok Tokyo was getting a new location. A bigger location to serve up all their amazing dishes and sushi. That is finally happening. After 2 years, it looks as if construction and remodeling will start on the former BL Bistro/Grill Italia building at 2203 S. Austin Street.
Recently, Bangkok Tokyo showed up again on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website. They have a new location they will be moving into, so we spoke with Konwisa Nawasriporn, founder and chef-owner of Bangkok Tokyo, and she told us that the property was purchased in 2023 to be the new home for Bangkok Tokyo.
We have been working on a drawing on floor plan and renovation with the project team including, achitect, engineer and the project contractor since last year and finally the plan was submitted to the city last week.
Renovation, Cost, and Timeline
