It’s been over a decade since In-N-Out opened its first San Antonio location. Since its local debut in 2014, only two more locations have opened, bringing the total to three places in the whole city to visit the California burger chain. All that is set to change when a fourth location opens at The Merc, a new development near the University of Texas at San Antonio.
The City of San Antonio’s online records include a construction application for a new In-N-Out at The Merc, revealing a few details about the project. The new location is estimated to cost $1.5 million to build from the ground up. The application, which MySA tracked down via BuildSA Online Services, describes the project as the “new construction of a quick-serve, drive thru restaurant.”
MySA reached out to The Merc for further confirmation of the In-N-Out location and will update this story if we receive a response. In the past, the developers behind the project shared other tenants that are expected to open at the massive retail site, including Pür & Simple, Pure Green, Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, a new concept from Wild Goji and Frenchies Modern Nail Care.
In-N-Out Burger has been around since 1948, when the first location opened in California.
