MONROE, Ore. — A man was taken into custody Wednesday morning after an armed barricade incident in Monroe prompted evacuations, a shelter-in-place notification and lockouts at two nearby schools, according to Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
BCSO deputies responded at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9 to the 700 block of Commercial Street after a resident called 911 to report that James Nathan Brown, 42, of Halsey, had fired a gun inside a home and barricaded himself inside with the caller.
The family member was not injured and was able to escape the residence a short time later…
