AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – BluLynx Solutions presented findings from a roughly 90-day review of Augusta’s Housing and Community Development department to commissioners, outlining financial control problems and a series of federal deadlines the department faces in the coming months.
The administrator said Augusta consulted HUD when looking for outside help, and HUD supported bringing in BluLynx because of its experience managing comparable federal housing and grant programs.
BluLynx reviewed grant management, program operations, compliance, staffing, separation of duties, fund administration, banking, program income, invoices, reimbursements, federal drawdowns, aging balances and HCD’s rental operations.
