BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Wyoming County has passed a new law known as “Ziggy’s Law” that establishes an animal abuser registry in the county.
The law unanimously passed on Wednesday following a vote by the Wyoming County Board of Directors. It is named after golden retriever Ziggy, a dog that survived abuse from his former owner; that owner was convicted in 2024 of aggravated cruelty to animals.
The registry will be published on the Wyoming County Sheriff’s website once the construction of the page is complete.
