GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County Board of Zoning Appeals has denied several requested variances for a proposed apartment development in Taylors after strong pushback from local residents.
Dozens of neighbors packed Wednesday night’s meeting to oppose the developer’s requests for exceptions to county requirements for a property near Old Spartanburg Road, where East North Street turns into Old Spartanburg Road near Mitchell Road Elementary School.
The developer sought to bypass a required 12.5-foot landscape buffer along more than 197 feet of the property line and asked to remove a six-foot screening requirement on a portion of the property to build a drive aisle.
