(KRON) — One resident was displaced after flames broke out at an Alta Avenue residence Tuesday afternoon. Investigators believe the fire may have been caused by a “discarded smoke material,” according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS).
RPDPS said the home was red-tagged following the blaze, and damage is estimated to be $250,000.
RPDPS said its fire engine arrived at the scene around 1:40 p.m., after receiving multiple calls.
“Crews observed fire coming from the front door and window of the residence. Firefighters began a fire attack and were able to contain the fire to the room of origin and entryway,” RPDPS said in a statement to KRON4.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation…
