The Dallas Mavericks have filed a zoning application for the former Valley View Center in North Dallas, taking their most concrete step toward developing the site as a new sports and entertainment district.
On Wednesday, the franchise told local media that it submitted a zoning change request covering roughly 112 acres near LBJ Freeway, Alpha Road, and Montfort Drive. The application seeks to amend the property’s existing planned development district and create a new subdistrict permitting a sports and entertainment campus.
