SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Shreveport and Bossier City leaders are asking residents to help clean up waterways across Caddo and Bossier parishes this Saturday.
Shreveport Green and Keep Bossier Beautiful are teaming up to clear litter from local waterways as part of the “Love Our Waterways Caddo-Bossier Cleanup Kickoff.”
Organizers say the river connects both cities
Only one river separates Shreveport and Bossier City, according to Shreveport Green. The organization says that river doesn’t divide the responsibility between the two cities but instead unites them around one shared goal.
“So when we think about Bossier, when we think about Shreveport, we are separated by that river. But realistically, we are sharing that river. If we’re going to take care of the environment, we should learn how to do that together,” Lauren Jones, executive director of Shreveport Green, said…
