A Longmont man was arrested Sunday after police said he entered another man’s home and hit him over the head with an object, knocking him unconscious for six hours and causing a head injury.
Richard Cook, 49, is charged with one count each of first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, menacing using a weapon, criminal mischief, harassment via electronic medium and harassment through obscene language or gestures. The court granted Cook a $3,000 bail, which he posted on Tuesday, despite the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office requesting $10,000.
On Saturday evening, a man returned to his Longmont home to find several windows smashed out and completely broken, according to an arrest affidavit. Within an hour and a half, the doorbell rang.
