WEST SALEM, Ore. (KATU) — Police detained a 16-year-old student at Straub Middle School who was armed with a knife on Wednesday, the Salem Police Department said.
Police were called shortly before 4 p.m. when the student displayed signs of “escalated behavior” while at the school’s Behavioral Health Center. He got ahold of a knife and damaged property, police said.
