As the bell tolls at 11:15 am on the first Friday of the new school year, hundreds of students flood into Ferris High School’s cafeteria.
With around six free meal options to choose from, kids of all grades file into respective lines for what they’re hankering for — be it that day’s special of toasted cheese sandwiches with tomato soup, or standard daily offerings like pizza, burgers, nachos, salads or deli sandwiches.
