Spokane, Wash. — The City of Spokane announced a new Emergency Streets pilot program that aimed to put temporary traffic-calming measures in place within 48 to 72 hours after a fatal crash.
City crews planned to add short-term safety features after those crashes to help slow drivers down and make them more aware of the road. The city reported those setups could include traffic cones, pink Emergency Streets signs and speed feedback signs.
