Dolly Parton’s sister, Stella Parton, recently opened up about the final request the beloved music icon made before her passing. In an interview with “CBS Mornings,” Stella revealed that Dolly’s last wish was simple yet heartfelt: she asked for prayers.
The legendary singer passed away on August 25 at the age of 80, following a brief and private battle with cancer-a struggle she kept hidden from fans and even some family members.
Respecting Dolly’s wishes, Stella confirmed that the family would not disclose the specific type of cancer, explaining, “She didn’t tell us that we could say it.” She emphasized her respect for Dolly’s privacy, saying, “It’s not my business to tell her business,” even as she spoke openly about her love for her sister.
Concerns about Dolly’s health became public in September 2025 when she postponed several Las Vegas concerts, citing the need for medical procedures.
