The Marshall Success Center is collecting gently used clothing and working appliances for its first annual Community Closet, a giveaway aimed at easing costs for families across Columbus this fall.
The center is part of the Muscogee County School District, and is “designed for students in grades 3-12 who have violated school district rules and have been temporarily removed from their home school.” MCSD says the goal of the program “is to ensure the students continue their education, complete their assigned days at the alternative school and learn how to make better choices.”
The center is hosting this giveaway in hopes of assisting families in need and is accepting donations through Nov. 10. The dispersion is set for Nov. 14.
Accepted donations
Marshall Success Center is asking the community for two categories of donations:
- Gently used clothing for men, women and children, all sizes
- Working appliances, including microwaves, refrigerators, washers and dryers.
