Crash involving 3 semis shuts down westbound US 30 by New Haven

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — A stretch of westbound U.S. 30 near New Haven is closed due to a crash Thursday afternoon in which three semitrailers collided, according to the New Haven Police Department.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Doyle Road. Traffic cameras from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) show heavy smoke coming from a semitruck. Police confirmed one of the semi’s cabs caught fire due to the crash.

Police confirmed multiple people were seriously injured, but the exact amount of people involved was not clear. It is also unclear what caused the crash.

All westbound lanes of U.S. 30 are closed, and it is unknown how long the closure will last…
