Polk County Woman Arrested After Selling $5K In Stolen Storage Unit Items On Facebook

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Frostproof woman is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say she broke into a storage unit, stole thousands of dollars in property, and attempted to sell the items on Facebook Marketplace.

Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Megan Elizabeth Thacker on September 9, 2026.

According to investigators, Thacker broke into a storage facility in Frostproof and took various items with a total estimated value of $5,000. The victim reported the burglary to law enforcement after discovering online listings on Facebook Marketplace that matched the stolen belongings…
