LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — With the resignation of embattled Clinton County Commissioner Brian Hurtekant, the Commission is now seeking applicants to fill the remainder of his term.
The Commission is accepting applications and letters of interest until Sept. 21. On Sept. 24 at 10:00 a.m., the Commission will consider applicants. The person selected and appointed will serve the remainder of Hurtekant’s term, which ends on Dec. 31, 2028. Being appointed does not prevent a person from seeking election to retain the seat for future terms.
To qualify for the position an applicant must be a registered voter living in the 4th Clinton County Commission District. The district includes portions of DeWitt and Watertown townships, and all of Olive and Riley townships.
