Man sentenced for kidnapping estranged wife in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A San Diego man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday for kidnapping his estranged wife in front of her two children and then forcibly driving her to Mexico.

Officials said 55-year-old Chad Oso was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for kidnapping his estranged wife from her La Mesa apartment on Sept. 17, 2024. Oso was convicted of kidnapping by a federal jury in March.

According to evidence presented at the trial, Oso showed up at the victim’s home unannounced and uninvited. After she rejected his demands, she tried to alert a nearby neighbor. However, Oso chased after her, beat her and then forcibly dragged her into the hatchback area of his Toyota RAV4…
