SOUTHERN WISCONSIN — Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley is opposing a proposed 190-mile, 765-kilovolt transmission line across southern Wisconsin, saying the project should not move forward without stronger community support and consideration of less disruptive alternatives.
The BECI Project, proposed by Midcontinent Grid Solutions, or MGS, would connect electric facilities in Crawford County with facilities in Walworth County before continuing to the Illinois state line. The study area includes portions of Crawford, Richland, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Dane, Jefferson, Rock and Walworth counties.
