SHREVEPORT, La. — A Shreveport man convicted in August of first-degree rape was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday.
John Lee Taylor, 42, was ordered to serve a mandatory life sentence without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. The sentence also requires lifetime sex offender registration.
Authorities said the incident occurred on May 8, 2024, when a female victim under 10 years old woke up to Taylor committing a sex act. The girl, who was a distant relative, called out to her sister in an adjacent bed, who saw Taylor trying to pull up his pants before leaving the room…
