TIF commission advances plan to help pay KC’s $600 million for Royals stadium

A plan to pay for part of Kansas City’s $600 million contribution to a new Royals ballpark in Crown Center is moving forward.

The Tax Increment Financing Commission on Wednesday approved a plan to redirect nearly $382 million in new economic activity tax revenue generated by the stadium toward paying off ff the city’s bond debt over 30 years.
