SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Another wet and steamy day is ahead for the Suncoast, with scattered to numerous thunderstorms developing across the area in the afternoon and evening. Moisture remains at high levels aloft, but just slight lower than we will see this weekend. Expect increased rain chances this weekend.
Highs will reach around 90 near the beaches and the lower 90s inland, with the best chance of storms during the afternoon and evening.
Saturday and Sunday brinds higher a slug of higher moisture into the air aloft. The moisture will fuel slow-moving storms capable of producing heavy downpours. With several days of rain adding up, localized flooding will be possible, especially in low-lying and poor-drainage areas. Both coastal and inland communities could get soaked, although storms will tend to gather near the west coast later in the day…
