Michigan Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase Through Three Indiana Counties

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A Michigan man is facing charges after a high-speed chase through three Indiana counties in a stolen pickup truck.

According to the Indiana State Police Bremen District, the incident began at 1:45 p.m. Thursday. Trooper Rine of the Indiana State Police Peru Post spotted a stolen black 2015 Dodge pickup truck and tried to pull the driver over on U.S. 24 near Logansport Road in Miami County. The driver refused to stop and fled north on U.S. 31.

The chase continued through Fulton County and into Marshall County. At one point, the driver, later identified as Shane Morton, 33, of Holland, Michigan, drove into the median to avoid tire-deflation devices and drove north in the southbound lanes of U.S. 31.
