Riverview Police Department dissolves; county police to handle emergency calls

RIVERVIEW, Mo. – The Riverview Police Department has dissolved. This comes after a closed-door meeting among Riverview city leaders to discuss financial decisions. As a result, the St. Louis County Police Department will now answer all emergency service calls in Riverview.

Col. Brandin Neil, the city’s interim police chief, told FOX 2 he will share details from Thursday’s meeting on Friday after having a chance to speak with his officers first.

The city had faced recent turmoil after its previous mayor went to jail in January on sex-related crimes. Lawsuits were also filed against the previous mayor.
