NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt has received a donation of $40 million from philanthropist Tom Golisano to advance pediatric heart care.
The hospital’s heart care and surgery program will be renamed the Golisano Pediatric Heart Institute in his honor.

Vanderbilt is among six hospitals joining the Golisano Children’s Alliance, bringing the network to 21 pediatric hospitals nationwide, according to a release. The Alliance is a growing national network of children’s hospitals dedicated to improving pediatric health care delivery, advancing innovation and ensuring children and families have access to high-quality, compassionate care close to home.
