NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Roughly 10 acres of state-owned land in downtown Nashville could soon be transformed into housing, hotels, shops and public space. But before the state begins searching for a private developer, Gov. Bill Lee’s administration is asking to waive standard disclosure requirements that would normally apply to the process.
The proposal involves five state-owned parking lots in the heart of downtown: Lots 16, 28 and 29, along with the Blue Lot and Gold Lot. These parking lots surround the Capitol building of James Robertson Parkway. Together, the properties cover approximately 10.37 acres of taxpayer-owned land in one of Nashville’s most valuable areas.
