Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Charges in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man is facing felony firearms charges after New Castle County police said detectives conducting proactive patrols found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine during a traffic stop Sept. 8.

Detectives assigned to the New Castle County Division of Police Active Crime Trends Team were patrolling the Pennrose community at approximately 6:44 p.m. when they observed a Chevrolet Trax commit a traffic violation, according to police.
