Fans concerned after Rick Nielsen abruptly leaves stage during Cheap Trick show

AURORA, Ill. (WTVO) — Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen reportedly experienced a health-related episode while performing Thursday night, causing the band to pause the show.

According to podcaster Mike Brunn of The Rock Experience, Cheap Trick was performing at Riveredge Park in Aurora, Illinois, when the band abruptly stopped their show due to Nielsen, 77, “having a hard time breathing.”

Brunn reported that Nielsen did return to the stage approximately 10 minutes later and continued his performance while seated in a chair, and left the stage once again during “Dream Police,” but returned to complete the set…
