Omaha Police officer hit by car; driver in custody

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – An Omaha Police officer is hurt, according to an on-scene lieutenant, and a driver is in custody after an incident Thursday night.

Officers were called to reports of a vehicle driving recklessly at 36th and Hamilton streets, in North Omaha, just after 10:15 p.m. Thursday.

As they tried to stop the car, a lieutenant said the driver backed into an officer and took off. A chase then began and led police to 82nd Avenue and Hanover Street in northwest Omaha…
