Police search for more teen suspects connected to street takeover incident

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis police have made an arrest and named three more persons of interest connected to a street takeover early Sunday in the Bevo neighborhood of south St. Louis.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday right by the iconic Bevo Mill. Videos shared online show a mob of young people taking over the area of Gravois Avenue and Morgan Ford Road, even lighting a car on fire. The heat from that fire caused damage to the street and also cracked multiple windows feet away at the Miniature Museum of St. Louis.

Prosecutors have since charged 19-year-old Jade Martinez with one count of stunt driving in connection with, participating in, or performing in a street takeover, a class B misdemeanor offense.
