WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita Habitat for Humanity held a special event on Thursday for its Pope Leo Village. Representatives from the Catholic Diocese of Wichita came out to officially bless the ground for neighborhood located at 26th and Ash.
The newly blessed site is part of a larger national vision. Pope Leo Village is a 22-city initiative engaging youth, students, and young adults as well as many others, as part of Faith in Action movement in building high-quality affordable housing for deserving families within the Habitat for Humanity framework.
Pope Leo Village is slated for completion in 2027 with the eight homes being purchased by families in Wichita Habitat’s Homeownership program.
