BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Boise State will mark four decades of its iconic blue turf this fall with a pregame ceremony that brings back one of the people who helped make it happen.
Gene Bleymaier, the former Boise State athletic director credited with driving the transition to The Blue at Albertsons Stadium, and Nancy Keiser, the wife of former Boise State President John Keiser, will raise the Blue Chaos flag ahead of the Broncos’ home opener against Memphis on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Bleymaier will be on hand as the university celebrates 40 years of the famous blue turf. To honor the anniversary, Boise State will wear custom, hand-painted helmets designed to celebrate the milestone…
