Thousands are expected to gather in downtown Springfield Sept. 12 for the city’s seventh annual community celebration.
Springfield’s “The Block Party” will feature live music, a car show, food and drinks from local vendors, raffles, family activities and booths from over 140 local businesses and civic partners. Admission to the event is free. It will last from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will be located along Main Street and surrounding blocks between Pioneer Parkway and Eighth Street.
The community will also be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Springfield Flame, a 62-foot sculpture near north Gateway Street and Beltline Highway that’s become one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
