Man found guilty of setting family’s home on fire in Niskayuna

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A man has been found guilty by a jury for intentionally setting his family’s Niskayuna home on fire in 2023. 54-year-old Michael Indarshan faces a felony charge of third-degree arson.

The incident took place on December 21, 2023, when police and fire crews were called to the scene of a house fire on Lisha Kill Road in Niskayuna at about 2 p.m. The fire severely burned the home, causing the collapse of the first and second floors and resulting in a total loss of the residence.

Indarshan’s wife and three of their children lived in the house, but were not in home when the incident happened.
