One person suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting on Reliance Street in Northwest Charlotte, according to medical responders. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to the scene on an assault with a deadly weapon call and are conducting an active investigation into what happened.
The shooting was reported on Reliance Street, according to WCNC Charlotte, which first reported that the victim’s injuries were described as life-threatening according to MEDIC. Reliance Street sits in the Thomasboro-Hoskins neighborhood, a historic residential pocket of Charlotte’s Westside corridor accessible off Bradford Drive near Freedom Drive and Interstate 85, according to Redfin.
The area falls under the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Freedom Division, headquartered at 4150 Wilkinson Blvd, which patrols three sectors across West and Northwest Charlotte, per the department’s own patrol area breakdown.
