COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – More unsettled at times Friday and Saturday as occasional showers and storms swing through the area. While it won’t be a washout, you will need to head inside when thunder roars. The second half of the weekend looks drier. That will crank up the heat again.
More clouds than sun at times Friday. Warm and steamy, but highs likely won’t hit 90 degrees in most places for the first time in more than a month; instead we’ll have mid and upper 80s. This is due to an increase in scattered showers and storms from late morning through mid afternoon as a disturbance moves up from the southwest. Rain coverage is expected to be around 50 or 60%.
A few showers and storms are possible at some of the high school football games, but hopefully the rain coverage will start to decrease by then. Spotty showers and storms are possible later in the overnight. Lows early Saturday will be in the low to mid 70s…
