Consumers Energy will be upgrading electrical lines in Kalamazoo County next week, temporarily affecting some customers.
The early morning work will upgrade low-voltage lines serviced by Consumers’ Pickerel substation, and will take place for 10 p.m. Sept. 16 through as late as 6 a.m. Sept. 17.

Roughly 1,500 customers in the area in and around Scotts and Pavilion Township will be affected, from roughly Indian Creek Golf Club east to Scotts, south and southwest to Pavilion and Indian Lake, and back north and west to the area near Long Lake, according to Consumers Energy.
“This work supports a stronger grid and helps ensure families and businesses have the dependable energy they need now and in the future,” said Greg Salisbury, senior vice president of electric distribution.
