In its original incarnation, Zesto was a post-war ice cream chain. From the mid-1950s, amid financial difficulties at the top, individual unit owners like the Rosenbargers began taking the chain local (for more on the history of New Albany’s Zesto, including the welcomed evolution of its cheeks chili dogs, see here).
