Authorities from Louisiana State Polite Troop A are investigating the cause of a two-vehicle accident that claimed one life Monday, Sept. 7.
Michael Middleton, 77, of Plaquemine, died from the injuries he sustained in the accident that occurred on La. 75 near La. 3066 at Jack Miller’s Landing, according to Shelby Mayfield, Public Information Officer for Louisiana State Police Troop A.
Middleton was driving a 2014 Nissan Rogue south on LA 75, approaching LA 3066. For reasons still under investigation, Middleton failed to stop at the stop sign, continued across LA 3066 into the boat launch area, and struck an unoccupied 1997 Dodge Ram that was backed into a nearby boat launch.
