Knocked down traffic pole in Metairie leads to road closures, traffic delays

METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Due to a knocked down traffic signal pole, eastbound Airline Highway and Ridgewood Drive were closed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development on Friday.

According to Jefferson Parish Councilman At-Large Scott Walker, the DOTD will reopen the road when the damaged signal is removed and a temporary signal and pole are installed.

The repair is anticipated to be done around 6 p.m., depending on the weather.

All motorists travelling in the area are asked to expect delays and seek alternate routes on their afternoon and evening commutes…
